Superman Strength

Description

I drew this artwork in pencil and then colored it in on the computer.

This is the Superman from the Animated TV show. I've always thought that the cartoon show was more realistic then the movies of superman, because it showed his limitations. He would struggle lifting up a big truck, and grit his teeth when he was shot by bullets. Realistically superman is from an advanced race from another planet, he is not immortal.

I thought about it and realized superman is about 100 times stronger and faster than a normal man. He is known for going faster then a speeding bullet. And in the original comic books it says exploding shells can still hurt him and that he can jump an 8th of a mile. Which is about 700 feet distance, so it all fits that he is 100 times stronger than an average man.

I wanted to do an artwork that shows that off, and also see how close I could get his look to the Animated Superman.

(Note: His X-ray vision, heat vision, and flying are not included because they are not comparable to Earth people, and the original comic books did not have those as powers of his)

Hope you enjoy!

Superman TAS came out in 96, that was 10 year anniversary after the John Byrne's Man of Steel series.
which reset some continuity Issues after the Crisis of Infinite Earths
For one it drastically scaled down his powers and eliminated powers he seldom used ever.
Besides power descaling it also changed his origins a bit.
